Thomas Zehetmair play-directs the Royal Northern Sinfonia

As their Conductor Laureate, Thomas Zehetmair will make two visits to the Royal Northern Sinfonia during this season for programmes that feature him both as conductor and violin soloist.

On 2 November, Thomas performs the Britten Double Concerto alongside his wife, Ruth Killius (viola) and conducts an English programme of Purcell, Vaughan Williams and Haydn’s ‘Oxford’ Symphony.  For his return visit in March 2019, Thomas pairs Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 with one of Bruckner’s lesser-performed symphonies; the Sixth. You can read more about these concerts on the Royal Northern Sinfonia website.

From Gateshead, Thomas goes to the Musikkollegium Winterthur, where he is Principal Conductor, for a performance of Paul Juon’s unusual work Episodes Concertantes for piano trio and orchestra.
