This week sees the opening of Robert Carsen’s award-winning production of Poulenc’s sublime opera, Les Dialogues des Carmélites
conducted by Simon Rattle
. The opera is set during the violent upheaval of the French Revolution and it is the first time that Carsen’s production has come to the Royal Opera House stage.
The cast includes Anna Prohaska in her Royal Opera House debut as ‘Constance’, Alan Oke who sings the ‘Father Confessor’ and Sir Thomas Allen performing the Marquis de la Force.
The run opens on Thursday 29th May to a packed out audience, with subsequent performances on:
