Introduction
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO), voted the “world’s greatest orchestra” by Gramophone has been lauded for its unique sound.
Askonas Holt’s relationship with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra goes back many years. Most recently in August 2016 where the RCO performed at The National Concert Hall, Dublin – launching their 2016/2017 series – and worked alongside young Irish musicians in their “side-by-side” European initiative.
In April 2015, we were delighted to have brought the RCO to Seoul to perform a week-long residency of all the Beethoven symphonies at the Seoul Arts Center under Iván Fischer. The final performance, culminated in a collaboration with the Seoul Motet Choir and the National Chorus of Korea for Beethoven’s magnificent Symphony No. 9.
January 2017 marked the RCO’s debut performance at The Esplanade, Singapore, after return concerts in Shanghai and Beijing. Our latest collaboration saw the RCO travel to Seoul in November 2017.
