Melbourne Symphony Orchestra | United States of America | October 2019
Oct 2019 - Oct 2019

Introduction

For the first time in almost 50 years, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is touring the United States of America, showcasing Australia’s most established orchestra to new audiences in Washington D.C and Worcester this October.

For these performances, the MSO will be joined by Chief Conductor Sir Andrew Davis to present Ravel Ma mère l’Oye, Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 (with Garrick Ohlsson) and Stravinsky The Firebird, plus Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe’s Earth Cry – a call for humanity to attune itself to the land, inspired by Aboriginal poetry.

Askonas Holt is excited to be working with the MSO for the first time on this historic tour.
