Valeriy Sokolov makes debut with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

Valeriy Sokolov performs Barber’s violin concerto for his debut with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra on 8 October, 2020. Santtu-Matias Rouvali conducts the program, which also includes Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. Audiences can tune in to the concert on GSOPlay.

The violinist has appeared with many of the world’s great orchestras, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Philharmonia Orchestra, and Tokyo Symphony. Frequent collaborators include Vladimir Ashkenazy, Kirill Karabits, Susanna Malkki, Andris Nelsons, Rafael Payare, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
