Next week Viktoria Mullova embarks on a European tour with the Estonian Festival Orchestra and Paavo Järvi. Starting in Tallinn, they go onto Zürich, Cologne, Berlin, Vienna and Luxembourg with Viktoria performing both the Sibelius and Brahms’ Violin Concertos. The tour is part of the centenary celebrations marking Estonia’s independence and the programme also includes the first performances of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Symphony No. 9 Mythos, and works by another of Estonia’s greatest musical champions, Arvo Pärt.
