Following on from a triumphant run as Mercédès in Carmen for the Aix-en-Provence festival this summer, rising star Virginie Verrez will make her house and role debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Opéra de Lille this weekend. Star conductor Emmanuelle Haïm will lead Cristophe Honoré’s critically-acclaimed production that originated at the Aix festival in 2016 and toured to the Edinburgh Festival in the same year.
This production kicks off a thrilling season for Virginie that will see her make further house debuts with the Opéra de Paris as Flora in La traviata alongside Anna Netrebko and Plácido Domingo and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni for the Dallas Opera with Mariusz Kwiecień in the title role. She will also appear in concert with the Minnesota Orchestra, Le Concert d’Astrée, Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne and the Orchestre National de Lyon.
Performances of Così fan tutte will take place on 30 September, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12 October. More information can be found here.
