Virginie Verrez to make house and role debut as Zerlina at Dallas Opera

Having previously won First Prize at the 2016 Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition, Virginie Verrez returns to the house for her official company debut and role debut as Zerlina in Don Gionanni this Friday. Music Director of the Dallas Opera, Emmanuel Villaume, will conduct the Robert Falls production which brings the action from the 18th century to the Roaring Twenties. Mariusz Kwiecien returns to his acclaimed portrayal of the Don, with Laura Claycomb as Donna Anna, David Portillo as Don Ottavio and Katie van Kooten as the vengeful Donna Elvira.

This continues a season of wonderful debuts for Virginie which saw her sing her first Flora in La traviata at the Opéra de Paris and Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte at the Opéra de Lille. Further ahead, she will return to France for a second concert appearance with the Orchestre National de Lyon before making her Glyndebourne debut this summer as Erika in the new Keith Warner production of Vanessa.
