Stephen Costello returns to Russia this week as Alfredo in La Traviata for his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre. Stephen is joined by Russian soprano Olga Peretyatko as Violetta, who was also Stephen’s co-star in Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera earlier this year. Pavel Klinichev conducts the Bolshoi orchestra, with stage direction by Francesca Zambello. Performances take place 10, 12, 14 May 2017.
Also making a debut this week, Joseph Moog joins the Hallé Orchestra for the first time in Manchester (13 May) and Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent (12 May). He will perform Grieg’s monumental piano concerto under the baton of Stephen Bell. To round up this successful season he will perform a programme of Haydn, Chopin, Debussy and Liszt in his debut at the Singapore International Piano Festival, and will perform Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland.
