World Premiere: Alexander Raskatov’s ‘Green Mass’

Iestyn Davies and Nikoay Didenko will perform in the world premiere of ‘Green Mass’, composed by Alexander Raskatov, and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday 30 January 2016 at the Royal Festival Hall. Commissioned for the LPO and Vladimir Jurowski, this work is an accolade to flora and fauna, particularly of Russia. Raskatov claimed “I miss Russia, the land of forest and fields. I miss the space” and began the tribute to his homeland. The piece is a setting of traditional Latin Mass, featuring added text in five different languages, all dedicated to the beauty of Russia.
