This month George Benjamin will conduct The Royal Opera House’s first revival of his and Martin Crimp’s highly acclaimed opera, Written on Skin. One of the most successful new operas of recent times, it features an outstanding cast including Iestyn Davies as The Boy, Christopher Purves as The Protector and Barbara Hannigan and Georgia Jarman as Agnès (they will share the role throughout the run).
Since its premiere at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2012, Written on Skin has been performed worldwide and received widespread critical acclaim. The performances this month at the Royal Opera House will be on the 13, 18, 23, 27 and 30 January.
