Duncan Ward returns to London Symphony Orchestra

Duncan Ward conducted the London Symphony Orchestra earlier this month in works by Bacewicz, Schreker and Richard Strauss. Writing in The Guardian, Tim Ashley praised “Ward’s superbly controlled performance… marvelous in its fierce dynamism and electrifying precision” in his five-star review.

The date marked Duncan’s return to the LSO having conducted them last summer in a programme of Berlioz, Bernstein and Gershwin. More recent highlights for Duncan have included concerts with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona and philharmonie zuidnederland – the latter orchestra appointed him their new Chief Conductor in October 2020.

The full performance of Duncan’s LSO concert is available to watch on Marquee TV (registration required).
