Harry Bicket returns to the United States this week for four performances with The Cleveland Orchestra, conducting an all-Mozart programme that includes his own arrangement of the composer’s Fantasia in F Minor, Exsultate, jubilate with soloist Kiera Duffy, and Symphony No. 38 Prague. Performances take place on 14, 15, 16 and 17 February.
Harry then returns to Lyric Opera of Chicago to continue rehearsals for a new production and Lyric premiere of Handel’s Ariodante, with Alice Coote in the title role, Heidi Stober as Dalinda, and Iestyn Davies as Polinesso. Performances at the Lyric run from 2 to 17 March.
While in Chicago, Harry will also conduct Music of the Baroque in a programme including Rameau’s Suite from Les Boréades and Concerti Grossi by Handel, Corelli and Dall’Abaco. Performances take place on 3 and 6 March.
Later this season, Harry makes a further visit to the States to continue The English Concert’s Handel opera series with performances of Semele in New York, Philadelphia, Ann Arbor and Dartmouth, and in Europe at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Sage Gateshead and Barbican Centre. He will lead the Santa Fe Opera in a new production of Cosi fan tutte, and collaborates with Renée Fleming for a special concert featuring Kevin Puts’ Letters From Georgia (based on words from the letters of artist Georgia O’Keeffe) and Strauss’ Four Last Songs. Harry returns to Europe in May, conducting Prague Philharmonia in a programme that includes Beethoven’s The Creatures of Prometheus.
