Kristina Mkhitaryan makes house and role debut at Palau de les Arts

Soprano Kristina Mkhitaryan will sing her first Medora in Verdi’s Il corsaro this week, for her debut appearance at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. Conducted by Fabio Biondi and directed by Nicola Raab, Kristina will sing opposite Michael Fabiano as her lover Corrado.

This engagement comes in the middle of an exciting season for Kristina; she won 2nd prize at the 2017 Operalia competition last summer, and has made debuts at Dutch National Opera (Eritea Eliogabalo) and the Royal Opera House (Micaëla Carmen). She will begin her 2018/19 season with her first appearance at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Violetta in La traviata, and last month it was announced that she will make her Metropolitan Opera debut in the 2018/19 season, as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (23 November).

Performances take place on 28 March, 1, 5, 8 and 10 April 2018. More information here. The performance on 8 April will be streamed on Opera Vision.
