In pictures: Gramophone Awards 2017

Last night, the classical music world joined together at the 2017 Gramophone Awards to celebrate a year of fantastic recordings. As well as the presentation of awards, the evening included a number of performances, including Iestyn Davies, Carolyn Sampson and Joseph Middleton, who performed songs which feature on their new album, Lost Is My Quiet.

We’re very happy that of the 12 winning recordings, six featured Askonas Holt artists: Iestyn Davies, Jonathan Cohen, Giovanni Antonini, George Benjamin (pictured above © Benjamin Ealovega), Murray Perahia and Joyce DiDonato. A reminder of the category-winning discs can be found here.

Signum Classics – whose recent releases include Sophie Bevan and The Mozartists’ acclaimed Perfido! album and Vol. 2 of Malcolm Martineau‘s The Complete Songs of Fauré, featuring Sarah Connolly, Iestyn Davies and Ann Murray –  took the gong for Label of the Year, while Isabelle Faust won Recording of the Year for her Mozart Violin Concertos disc with Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico.

Joyce DiDonato, winner of the Recital award for her In War & Peace album, was not able to attend the ceremony, but sent a heartfelt message from Greece:

The full ceremony is available to watch on demand at until 13 December.

Congratulations to all this year’s winners!
