This Saturday 27 January, Robin Ticciati makes his debut with the Wiener Philharmoniker in a performance at the Mozartwoche Festival in Salzburg. Beginning with a performance of Elgar’s Violin Concerto, with Renaud Capuçon, the concert concludes with Mozart’s Symphony No. 41.
Since taking up the Music Directorship of the Deutches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin on 17 September, Robin has been involved in a range of projects with the orchestra, including a semi-staged performance of Berlioz’s L’enfance du Christ (directed by Fiona Shaw), the release of a CD — Debussy: La mer & Ariettes oubliees — and even a ‘Symphonic Mob’, which saw Robin conduct over a thousand musicians at the Mall of Berlin.
Upcoming projects for Robin include a German tour with the DSO Berlin, a return to Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, and a summer at Glyndebourne — where he is Music Director — conducting productions of Der Rosenkavalier and Pelléas et Mélisande.
