Rosa Feola and Alexander Tsymbalyuk make their house debuts this week at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in Rigoletto. No stranger to the role, Rosa has sung Gilda at Teatro di San Carlo, Opernhaus Zurich and Teatro Regio di Torino and will reprise the role later this season at the Bayerische Staatsoper. Alexander has previously sung Sparafucile at the Bayerische Staatoper, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and The Bolshoi. This season, his north American performances will continue at The Metropolitan Opera as Timur in Turandot.
We caught up with Rosa in between rehearsals:
“I am so happy to be in a city that I love. I feel very lucky that I discovered Chicago, which Maestro Muti introduced me to a few years ago and I’m lucky to be here again where I feel at home!
It’s a real joy and an honour for me to perform with such a wonderful cast. I feel really blessed to be singing with people who cares about music and emotion so much and all I will say about the production, is that the lake make everything so magical….!”
