Soprano Rosa Feola will make her Oman debut this week in two performances of Bellini’s La Sonnambula at Royal Opera House Muscat in her role debut as Amina. The production, conducted by Antonello Allemandi, is performed with the Orchestra and Chorus of Fondazione Arena di Verona.
Rosa came to international attention after winning multiple awards including Second Prize, The Audience Prize and the Zarzuela Prize at the Plácido Domingo World Opera Competition (2010). Recent engagements include her house debut as Gilda Rigoletto at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Norina Don Pasquale at Teatro alla Scala conducted by Riccardo Chailly, Nanetta Falstaff on tour to Astana with Teatro alla Scala conducted by Zubin Mehta and concerts with the Bayerischer Rundfunk Munich and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding.
This season and beyond she performs Lauretta Gianni Schicchi and Rigoletto at the Bayerische Staatsoper, La finta giardiniera, Il turco in Italia and Rigoletto at Opernhaus Zürich, L’elisir d’amore at Teatro alla Scala, Lucia di Lammermoor at Basel Opera, and makes her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2019. She will also record Resphighi’s Il tramonto with Riccardo Chailly for Decca Records.
