  • Falstaff (Verdi)

    Salzburg Festival

    • The great exception was, alongside the good Fenton by Bogdan Volkov, Giulia Semenzato as the vocally brilliant Nannetta, who delighted with perfectly flooded pianissimo heights.

    • Giulia Semenzato shows lyrical-noble quality in the high notes as Nannetta.

  • L'incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi)

    Opera du Rhin
    Mar 2023
    • Giulia Semenzato portrays a very seductive Poppea vocally but nevertheless disturbing because ready for anything to gain power.

    • Poppea deserves her crown in the person of Giulia Semenzato. Gourmet ricochets of modulations and the theatrical charm of simplicity emanate from her performance..." "...her sensuality seems innate, in a magic that she exerts on those around her. The Italian soprano has no need to highlight her intentions; we remain attached to this musical flow devoid of any artifice.

    • Giulia Semenzato, fatal intriguing, seduces us, luminous and terrifying by turns.

    • Semenzato has a sweet and caressing timbre and her song is sensual, homogeneous, easy, always projected clearly, from the outside, from the lips. She especially stood out in the Italian pieces. Giulia's simple bel canto arietas had no secrets for her, she went through all the recesses of sentimental expression, from loving joy to disappointment and pain, always nuanced, light (in this sense, Alle mie tante lagrime turned out wonderful, with the guitar made a pure whisper next to her).

  • Recital at Festival of the Valle d'Itria

    Martina Franca
    Aug 2022
    • An awaited and important event is what the cycle "The song of the olive trees" represents for the Festival of the Valle d'Itria of Martina Franca. The last of this year, held on the first of August, was among the most successful ever: a perfect combination of musical care and adherence to the natural atmosphere of the chosen location, the splendid Masseria Palesi. The Duo protagonist of this special moment of pure Chamber Music was formed by the Soprano Giulia Semenzato (Voice well known for being a specialist in making exactly every nuance that the word and the music generate together with each other) and by the Guitarist Jadran Duncumb (heard here for the first time with equal applause for the completeness of the artistic Level). The choice of the Program included a path begun with the Apulian Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829): accomplice and interpenetrated the execution of the Six Cavatine op. 39, rendered in an excellent way both in terms of style and correspondence with the metric accentuations and textual signifiers; performance which did not lack the appropriate premise by voice by the Interpreters in support of the Program based on "migrant" musicians who then found consecration in foreign territory. The Concert ends with ovations for the Duo and this is right: we need to find ourselves in Quality and Respect for what we do. Music is sacrifice and for this reason the Concert of the first of August proved to be a good opportunity to reflect on what it means to "make sacred" something. To be taken as an example!

  • Falstaff (Verdi)

    Festival Aix-en-Provence
    Jul 2021
    • Giulia Semenzato's Nanetta, a soprano with a beautiful timbre, sang that beautiful aria 'Sul fil d’un soffio etesio' to perfection and was very pleasantly surprising.

    • The delicious and seductive Nannetta of Giulia Semenzato with a beautiful timbre.

    • The Nannetta by Giulia Semenzato is a light whipped cream, able to make you forget the greasy blackness of the room.

    • Giulia Semenzato has Nannetta's delicious teenage freshness

    • Juan Francisco Gatell (Fenton) and Giulia Semenzato (Nannetta) make a charming couple, he a tenor from the Belcanto school and Mediterranean in color, she endowed with a confident and pleasant instrument, with airy trebles.

    • Above all we remember the Nanetta of Giulia Semenzato with her creamy top notes.

  • Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart)

    Theater an der Wien

    • Giulia Semenzato emitted an irresistible mixture of charm and cunning with every note that left her throat. She gave the role new facets with a caramel timbre and technical sovereignty and easily overtook her Figaro as a domestic intriguer.

  • Ottone in Villa (Vivaldi)

    Teatro la Fenice, Venice
    Jul 2020
    • In spite of the title, the real protagonist is not Ottone: the sensual Cleonilla assumes greater importance, excellently interpreted on the vocal and gestural level by Giulia Semenzato, a light soprano with a brilliant and homogeneous timbre, with ease in the high notes - as it was possible to appreciate in "Quanto m’alletta” and in “Caro bene”- and the ability to make contrasting emotional states present in the same aria, as in “You will see if I miss you" and in “No, I no longer have love for you.
