Over the next few months, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment will embark on a series of European tours that see the orchestra perform to audiences in 11 cities across 10 countries.
Since first touring the OAE in the mid-1990s, Askonas Holt (and formerly Harold Holt) has had the privilege of arranging performances in Japan, Korea, Taipei, New Zealand, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, the USA, Austria, France and Belgium. In 2016, our first project with the orchestra in mainland China and South Korea saw concerts with Ian Bostridge in Daejeon, Shanghai and Beijing.
Arias from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and La clemenza di Tito, rare jewels including Haydn’s Scena di Berenice and arias from Gluck’s Paride ed Elena and Il Parnaso confuso, all interspersed between movements of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40
Before travelling to Moscow, the OAE, Magdalena and Giovanni perform the same programme at London’s Southbank Centre tonight.
