Curated by Simon’s first manager Martin Campbell-White, and former City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) Chief Executive Edward Smith, the exhibition will follow a timeline from 1955 to today, with photographs, awards, video footage, letters, programmes and other memorabilia, including unseen items from Simon’s family collections.
A series of Q&As between LSO players and well-known industry figures with whom Simon has enjoyed a close connection will run alongside the exhibition, with guests including Simon’s teacher and mentor John Carewe, double-bassist Chi-chi Nwanoku, and exhibition curators Martin Campbell-White and Edward Smith. Dates, times and locations will be published on the LSO website in due course.
